چکیده

Methods All participants were prospectively recruited and underwent CMR in a 1.5 T scanner. LVEF < 45% and ≥45% were used to define HFrEF and HFpEF, respectively. Dilated cardiomyopathy was the primary cause for HFrEF. HF status was confirmed with B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) > 400 pg/ml. Patients with myocardial infarction were excluded. Myocardial circumferential strain (CST) and strain rate (CSR) was analyzed in mid LV of the short axis plane and the longitudinal strain (LST) and strain rate (LSR) in 4-chamber view of the SSFP cine images using feature tracking (CIM software, Auckland, New Zealand). LV end diastolic pressure (LVEDP) was estimated using normalized left atrial transition time from time-intensity curves of the first pass perfusion images.

Myocardial strain analysis in patients with Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction using bright blood cine MR images: A comparison with speckle-tracking echocardiography

Background Changes in myocardial strain parameters is of interest in patients with heart failure as an objective measure of disease severity. Speckle-tracking echocardiography (STecho) is the accepted standard of reference for myocardial strain analysis given superior temporal resolution; however, difficult acoustic windows and limited contrast to noise resolution can limit strain analysis. Pre...

Validating feature tracking MRI for the assessment of strain rate in patients with various hemodyanamic states

Background Myocardial strain rate (SR) is a valuable measurement in assessing myocardial mechanical properties, which can be compared between subjects in the setting of various hemodynamic states. Feature tracking (FT) is a novel method to assess SR off-line on cine images acquired in routine cardiac MRI. In this study we sought to assess SR using the FT method in a group of patients and to val...

Prognostic value of myocardial strain analysis with cardiac magnetic resonance in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy

Background Myocardial deformation analysis is an important task in the evaluation of heart failure. We and other previously showed that myocardial strain is a more sensitive marker for the prediction of cardiac events compared with leftventricular ejection-fraction (LV-EF). The current gold standard technique to quantify myocardial deformation is CMR tagging. However, additional pulse sequences...

Cardiac MR feature tracking identifies abnormal biventricular global strain values in biopsy-proven non-ischemic cardiomyopathies

Background Cardiac MR is the reference standard for assessing biventricular systolic function and delayed enhancement. However, changes in systolic function as assessed by global parameters such as ventricular ejection fraction are late indicators of adverse structure-function changes. Myocardial strain has shown promise to identify abnormal potentially reversible regional myocardial function, ...

Quantification of left atrial strain and strain rate using Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance myocardial feature tracking: a feasibility study

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance myocardial feature tracking (CMR-FT) is a quantitative technique tracking tissue voxel motion on standard steady-state free precession (SSFP) cine images to assess ventricular myocardial deformation. The importance of left atrial (LA) deformation assessment is increasingly recognized and can be assessed with echocardiographic speckle tracking. Howeve...
